LCD vs. Plasma: The Gap Widens

Sales of LCD TV sets, having overtaken sales of plasma sets last year, are widening their lead, according to the latest estimates by iSuppli Television tracker. By 2008, LCD screens will outsell plasma screens by a factor of more than two-to-one, both in North America and globally. But both products will see their average selling prices decline by that time. Unit sales of plasma screens will be in decline, while LCD unit sales will be accelerating but face heavy price competition.
